adminI was really surprised that I went to see this movie because it’s not my kind of movie, but the R rating was so tempting and I’m glad I went to see it because it was a blast. The movie reminded me of Ted and defied my expectations. If you had seen teaser photos or muted clips, you might assume it was aimed at kids, but that’s far from the case.
If you’re a dog lover, the emotional aspect will undoubtedly appeal to you more. Personally, I lean more towards cats, but dogs are fine too, I guess. That didn’t change the fact that I loved the humor of the film so much. That was undoubtedly its strength and won me over. Despite its comedic focus, the film contained a meaningful message and theme that kept it from being a pure laugh riot. He tied it all together so well. I can already imagine that the message ‘The best love is the hardest’ would resonate well with some. Definitely take that friend you know in a toxic relationship to the movies to see the film. The plot isn’t groundbreaking, but that wasn’t a drawback for me. Because it’s unrealistic to expect a movie about a talking dog to revolutionize storytelling. At first, I felt Hunter’s voice wasn’t quite right, but I quickly got used to it. Nice to see a little reunion between Josh Gad and Isla Fisher after Wolf Like Me, which I still think was the only one that loved it.
That is funny too, there are also a few jokes that can go unnoticed because they are not as prominent as the rest. I liked the line about the people in the light shades. The guest appearances were pretty good too, especially Couch. With a running time of just over an hour and a half, the pacing was just right and there were no unnecessary filler words or rushed sequences. The message of the film was understandable and skillfully written, making it clear that it wasn’t just about dogs.
